March Empties ~ A Trip Through My Trash Can!

Let’s take another trip through my trash can. This is 2 months of product… seems it’s taking me forever to get to the bottom of things lately.

L’Oreal Smooth Intense Polishing Conditioner

L’Oreal Smooth Intense Polishing Conditioner

This is actually a nice conditioner. It leaves my hair soft and feeling healthy although it doesn’t really deliver “intense smoothness” or “polish” my hair. My hair is still quite frizzy when I use it. I also tried the shampoo which I hated, but since the conditioner wasn’t bad I kept using it (alternating it with my new favorite conditioner, below) until it was gone. I won’t be re-purchasing it.

Marc Anthony Bye Bye Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner

This is my new favorite shampoo and conditioner! The keratin seems to really penetrate my hair and help to calm my frizz. I have damaged color treated hair and I’ve been looking for something that works to reduce frizz for quite a while. The shampoo doesn’t leave my hair feeling dry and damaged… it leaves it feeling like hair (which is rare)!! I like that the bottles are color coded since I can’t see small print in the shower.

I bought this back when I was still combining 3 products every day to style my hair. I used this for lift at the roots and hold at the ends. Of all the drugstore mousses I’ve tried, this one is the best. It’s less puffed up with air and more liquidy than a typical mousse. It gives a nice amount of hold without leaving my hair stiff & sticky.

CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion

This is the 2nd bottle of CeraVe body lotion I’ve used up this winter. It’s the perfect light weight yet nourishing moisturizer! I smooth it on in the morning and it absorbs quickly so I can get dressed and ready without waiting for it to dry. My skin feels comfortable all day.

Olay ProX Age Repair Lotion SPF 30

I’m so happy I finally used this up! I don’t like this moisturizer for my face because it leaves me shiny and I didn’t feel it was doing “age repairing” anyway. I was putting it on my neck, chest and backs of hands just to use it up.

Banana Boat Protect & Hydrate 2 IN 1 Sunscreen and Moisturizer SPF 30

I got this moisturizing sunscreen with aloe to use daily on my exposed areas in the cooler months. I really like the finish and feel so I would re-purchase this if the packaging were better. Unfortunately, the tube is really hard to squeeze so dispensing product is a pain. Twenty-five percent of it is still in there, but it clings to the inside of the tube and won’t come out.

I’ve used up another pot of my favorite night time moisturizer. I don’t know what it is about this cream, but it leaves my skin feeling baby soft in the morning.

Colgate Optic White Toothpaste

Colgate Optic White

I just switched from Sensodyne Extra-Whitening toothpaste to Colgate Optic White. My teeth have always been really sensitive so I could never really whiten them so even though the Sensodyne didn’t really make them much whiter, it didn’t cause sensitivity either. I got veneers a few years ago and thought I wouldn’t have to even use whitening toothpaste, but even veneers get dingy over time. My teeth are much less sensitive with the veneers on so I decided to try a different whitening toothpaste, and I’m glad I did! I think this toothpaste has really helped my teeth look whiter.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri

I used to think doing a home manicure was pointless since the polish always chipped within a day or two, but then I tried this product and now I can go weeks between salon manicures by just changing my own polish. You just paint your nails, wait 2 minutes, paint on this clear shiny top coat, wait another 60 seconds, and BAM dry, hard nails that last for 4-5 days! It’s only half used but after 6 months it’s gotten thick and sticky so I have to toss this one, but I’ve already bought another.

Lorac Touch-Up-To-Go Concealer Pen

This product won my under eye concealer tests last year so I love the formula, but I won’t be buying this again unless they change the packaging. The first one I bought had a smooth push button at the end to send the product up into the brush. I could dispense just the right amount for my under eyes. With the 2nd one I purchased, the button was more of a click button where I couldn’t control the amount going into the brush, and 3/4 of the product ended up drying in the brush. At $28 for less than 1/4 ounce, it was all used up in less than a month.
