Easy Everyday Makeup Tutorial Featuring My Go-To Products

Here’s a fresh easy full face makeup look using my fool-proof, go-to, favorite products!! This look would be great for office, shopping, lunch etc., it’s very light and natural looking and great for mature skin.

Most Used Tut Thumb

I always prep my skin by washing with gentle CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, then applying my Vitamin C serum, then Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Serum, then CeraVe PM Moisturizing Lotion, then sunscreen (usually Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid spf 70).

The makeup I reach for almost every day & use in this tutorial:

  • Mac Paint Pot in Painterly
  • Tarte CC Be Matte-nificent Palette
  • Wet n Wild Coloricon Shimmer Eye Pencil in Silver
  • MUFE Aqua Eyes in “Dark Grey” 21L
  • Cover Girl Clump Crusher Mascara in Black
  • Giorgio Armani Master Corrector #2
  • IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer
  • IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation in Medium Beige
  • NYX Blush in Peach
  • Physicians Formula OrganicWear Bronzer in Medium
  • Tarte LipSurgence in “Exposed” & “Grateful”

Eyelid Primer:

Mac PaintPot PainterlyMac Paintpot is my perfect eyelid primer because it’s opaque and matte so it covers my freckles and keeps my drooping hood from sticking to my eyelid! I use my IT Cosmetics No Tug Flat Eyeshadow Brush to spread a thin layer of “Painterly” over the eyelid starting at the lash line and all the way up to my eyebrow.

Under Eye Corrector:

Armani Master CorrectorI don’t currently have a favorite under eye concealer because they all make my crows feet appear worse, but I do love the Armani Master Corrector to disguise the darkness at the inner corner of my eye and the tear trough (which is now running down my cheek). I use my Crown 456 Domed Concealer brush to blend the corrector over only the dark shadow area.

Concealer:

IT Cosmetics Eyelift in a TubeI like the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer to cover blemishes and red areas on my cheeks. I use the same Crown concealer brush and  blend in circular motions in one direction then I go in the opposite direction. This really helps to cover pores more effectively than painting in an up & down motion!

Light Eyeshadow Shade:

Tarte CC Matte OpenFor this fresh day look, I’m only going to use 3 of the lighter shades from the Tarte CC Be Mattenificent Palette. I use my IT Cosmetics “No Tug” All Over Shadow Brush to apply the off white color from the upper left corner of the palette over the eyelid starting at the lash line and blending up above the crease to fake a larger lid. Add a little just below the eyebrow to highlight.

IT Shadow Brush

Medium Eyeshadow Shade:

Tarte CC Matte OpenNext I use my IT Cosmetics “No Tug” Crease Blending Brush to apply the peach color next to the off-white in an arc above the crease but I don’t use a back and forth rainbow motion because it makes the shadow skip across my crepey skin. I place the brush in the center above the iris and pull down slightly to apply the color.

IT Crease Brush

Crease Eyeshadow Color:

Tarte CC Matte OpenI use my small pointed Japonesque Pro Crease Brush to place the crease color (the taupe color on the right below the plum) on top of the peach shadow creating the outer “V”. Angle the brush up and out as though drawing a line from the corner of the eye toward the outer corner of the brow stopping half way. Then turn the brush horizontal and place more shadow above the crease at the outer third of the eyelid.

Blend:

My favorite blending brush is still the Sonia Kashuk Crease Brush. I gently blend the crease color into the medium color using circular motions to blend up above the crease.

Eyeliner:

Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes

I’ve had this Wet & Wild Shimmer Pencil in “Silver” forever and I still use it daily because it’s more of a light shimmery grey than a sparkly silver. I line just my lower lashes with it, then line my upper lash line with Make Up Forever AquaEyes in 21L (this was the winner in my eye pencil wear tests).

Mascara:

Cover Girl Clump CrusherI keep trying other mascaras and keep coming back to Cover Girl Clump Crusher. It doesn’t build the longest or lushest lashes, but it stays put all day and comes off easily when I wash my face. For this day look, I skip curling the lashes and apply 2-3 coats to upper lashes.

Foundation:

IT Cosmetics Celebration FoundationThe IT Cosmetics Celebration foundation is my go-to fave because it just makes me feel confident. I don’t have to worry about having a shiny forehead, or dry patches, or worn off patches, or phone transfer or shifting color. It’s so easy to apply too! I use the IT Cosmetics Dual Ended Heavenly Luxe Powder Brush to apply it in circular motions starting at the center of my face and blending outward toward the edges.

Bronzer:

Physicians Formula BronzerThe Physicians Formula OrganicWear is my daily bronzer because it’s not too orange and it’s very sheer. I apply it with my Real Techniques Blush Brush under my cheek bones and around my hairline.

Blush:

NYX Blush PeachOf all the blushes I have or have tried this NYX Blush is the best. The color is so pretty, but it goes on so sheer that it’s hard to mess it up! It’s called “Peach” but it’s not peach at all, it’s more of a hot pink in the pan but yet it goes on very natural looking. I use my Crown Fan Brush to sweep it from my hairline forward at the top of my cheeks stopping about half way to my nose so I don’t end up getting the blush too close to those tear troughs!

Lips:

Lipsurgance SetAs the final step to make the look more polished I apply my favorite lip stain, Tarte Lipsurgance in “Exposed” which is a matte finish. If it’s too matte, I layer another glossier Lipsurgance over it, in this case, “Grateful” from the 2013 holiday sampler set.

I sure doesn’t seem quick and easy when I’m typing it all out, but in real time (without talking and explaining it all step by step like in the video) this only takes 5-10 minutes, so I can get out the door and on with my day!
